Based on the recommendation of the ELC and approved by the Instruction Commission, the WAOL Instruction Fee for Shared Courses will increase starting Fall 08. The current fee is $40 per credit per enrollment.
***New Fee Starting Fall 08: $50 per credit per enrollment***
Starting Fall 2008 WAOL will bill $50 per credit per enrollment to colleges that enroll students in SHARED courses on WAOL. The entire fee is passed through to the college that hires the instructor.
The fee has been $40 since WAOL started in 1998, but $40 no longer provides enough revenue to cover the costs of the college that hires the instructor. The ELC will work over the next year to develop a way to continue to keep the fee current.
Please note that the Instruction Fee is only for SHARED courses, that is, where the instructor and students are at different colleges. This is not the Technology Fee ($8 per credit per enrollment) that is applied to all courses supported by WAOL.
