Reminder: WAOL ANGEL for Spring
Most classrooms supported by WAOL are moving to ANGEL for Spring 09. Here are a few reminders as the quarter begins:
- For non-shared courses, colleges now choose the dates. Students are given access to the classroom one week before instruction begins.
- For shared courses, the classroom open date is March 26, and instruction begins April 2
- Students will be directed to WAOL ANGEL from the WAOL web site http://www.waol.org
- WAOL has also created a Blackboard classroom for each class to which all students have been attached. We inserted into each class an announcement directing students to WAOL ANGEL.
- If the instructor intends to continue to teach in Blackboard for Spring quarter, the INSTRUCTOR must post a message in his/her ANGEL classroom to let students know they must go to Blackboard. We have information on how to do that on this page: http://waol.org/faculty_and_staff/angelSupport.aspx
- WAOL’s Blackboard contract ends June 30, so no one will be allowed to begin SUMMER 09 on WAOL Blackboard.
Logging in:
- The student user ID in ANGEL does not have the leading “waol.” To log into ANGEL, students type in their SID alone, no dashes or spaces. (Example: 123456789)
- The default password is the first five letters of the last name. All users are encouraged to change their passwords immediately on first logging in to WAOL ANGEL.
- All users should also check and correct their email address so they can use the fabulous feature in ANGEL—I Forgot My Password!
Here are some resources for your faculty and students:
- Technical support is available 24×7 for faculty and students here http://www.waol.org/general_info/help_desk.aspx
- The WAOL web site has a Week Zero for students to learn ANGEL http://www.waol.org/current_students/weekZero.aspx
- The WAOL web site also has resources for instructors: http://www.waol.org/faculty_and_staff/angelSupport.aspx
