WAOL Fall 11 Shared Course Instruction Ends Today
WAOL fall grades for ALL shared courses are due next Monday, December 5th, and need to be submitted no later than midnight or they do not get recorded and sent off to the students’ enrolling colleges.
Student access to their ANGEL fall classrooms will be turned off on Wednesday, December 7th. If there are any grade changes that need to be made after December 5th they will need to be emailed directly to our office. We will then make the change in the WAOL Fall 11 database and send them off to the appropriate college.
Click here for instructions on Web Grading and here for assigning an Incomplete Grade in a WAOL course.
Any grade changes made after December 5th, 2011 must be sent to: Monique Kovalenko (mkovalenko@sbctc.edu) and Brook Bane (bbane@sbctc.edu)

ANGEL Patch “Access Denied” Problem Fixed
ANGEL applied a fix for “Access Denied” problem this morning, Wednesday, October 19th and everything looks to be fixed. Secure log-on has also been re-enabled.
Please check it out, and report any “Access Denied” problems to the ANGEL support ticket.
Case #896256 – Getting Access Denied when logging on as a user via Admin Account
Update: ANGEL Login Issues
Who: All WAOL ANGEL Users
What: It looks as though the ANGEL login issues have been corrected. ANGEL Support estimates that “Logon As” will be fixed early next week.
ANGEL Login Issues
Who: Faculty, Students and Administrators
What: Some faculty and students have had problems logging into ANGEL, seeing an Access Denied message and having to repeat the login several times. This problem was fixed, as of 10/11/2011 5pm PDT by changing our Logon nugget to use the standard mode of logging into ANGEL. Administrators may still encounter this problem when using the Logon As feature within the ANGEL Account Manager.
Next Steps: Bb Support is looking at the “Account Manager Logon As” problem and hoping to quickly have a fix for our ANGEL installation, but we don’t have an estimate as to when this might be.
More Info: ANGEL Service Pack 14 seems to have caused a problem with the Logon As and authentication pass-through features within ANGEL. This problem seems to be isolated to ANGEL installations, like ours, with multiple domains.
The ANGEL Logon is currently operating in ‘normal’ mode and so users should be cautioned against logging into ANGEL while using an unsecured (open) Wi-Fi connection.
ANGEL & Browser Compatibility
Angel provides support for new browser versions 90 days after the new release . That said, a handful of browsers have been moving to new versions at alarming speeds lately. In order to support you in having the most successful experience in ANGEL here are some tips gleaned from eLearning coordinators in our system:
Internet Explorer 9 is still too new to be completely compatible with ANGEL so keep on using earlier versions for awhile.
Regarding Firefox, we’ve got a pieces of advice:
To install Version 6.0.2: Firefox updated to version 7.0 and it is not officially supported yet by Angel. There is an issue with sending Angel mail and there may be other issues. If you are experiencing issues with Angel and you are using Firefox version 7, I would recommend uninstalling Firefox 7.0 and install version 6.0.2 from this link: http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/6.0.2/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%206.0.2.exe. The installation files for 6.0.2 for Mac can be found at: http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/6.0.2/mac/en-US/Firefox%206.0.2.dmg and the installation files for Linux can be found here: http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/6.0.2/
Firefox 3.6:
If you happen to have any issues with later Firefox versions you can uninstall, and then install version 3.6.
- Windows 7, Vista, or XP users can download 3.6 here
- Mac users can download 3.6 here
- Linux users can download 3.6 here
And, lastly here is a link to a video by Kathy Brooks of Centralia college on how to install Firefox Version 4.0.1:
